Historical Fiction

Margaret Oliphant wrote several works of historical fiction, most of them still interesting and enjoyable today. Of less merit are Caleb Field and Magdalen Hepburn, in which she experimented in a historical "style" not her own, though of course her own voice still comes through to some extent.

Caleb Field, a Tale of the Puritans
Katie Stewart, a True Story
Magdalen Hepburn
A Boy of Fife
Short Fiction1861
The Covenanter's Daughter
Short Fiction1884
The Heirs of Kellie
Short Fiction1896
