The Story

Lord and Lady Somerville were not pleased about the marriage of their young daughter Sybil to a diplomat, Maurice Mostyn; but they have agreed to it on condition she stay with them whenever he goes abroad. When a diplomatic crisis means he must leave for the Far East immediately after the ceremony, they won't let Sybil go with him, even part of the way.

After considerable time passes with no word from him, the enraged parents start planning an annulment. It may be all over unless timid little Sybil can summon her strength.
