The Story

Captain Reginald Cannon is staying with the Heavisides in Fife, yet all he can think about is Nelly Stuart, a girl he met recently in Cornwall. Mrs Heavisides has arranged a picnic party to entertain him, but finds him listless and distracted as they change trains at Ladybank Junction. As the train is at last about to start, suddenly he sees a lovely face across tracks.
