At a weight of 17 stone, middle-aged bachelor Mr Oldham does not appear a romantic figure, but nevertheless he still hopes romance will enter his life. While on holiday with friends he is an ear-witness to murder! Despite the merciless teasing of his friends he turns detective to find the murderer, and most especially to find a small child who has been hidden away. He also meets two lovely ladies.
